Shiptheory can pass your IOSS number to your carrier when booking a shipment, but each carrier and sales channel works differently. You should read the following guide to ensure your IOSS number is being used as you expect.

A prerequisite of the below is that you have provided your IOSS number(s) to Shiptheory and have set up Currency Thresholds. For more information on how to add your IOSS number to your Shiptheory shipments, please read this guide.

Sales Channels & Marketplaces

Shiptheory can pull your IOSS number automatically from Brightpearl, Seller Dynamics, Amazon and eBay. For more information on how you can enable IOSS support in your Brightpearl account, read here. IOSS numbers are downloaded automatically from Seller Dynamics provided you have set these up within our Seller Dynamics account, please check with Seller Dynamics support if you are unsure. IOSS numbers are downloaded from eBay automatically if they exist on the order. IOSS numbers are downloaded from Amazon automatically if they exist on the order.

If you use a different sales channel to those listed above, you need to add your IOSS number manually to your Shiptheory account or pass it through Shiptheory's API. For more information, read here. As sales channels and marketplaces updates their APIs to provide IOSS numbers to Shiptheory, we will update our integrations and update this page. Meanwhile, you will need to provide the correct IOSS number directly to Shiptheory if you wish to use IOSS services.

Carriers

The below table outlines all the carriers that are currently accepting IOSS numbers. If you have added your IOSS number to your account, Shiptheory will automatically pass it directly to these carriers.

Important: Shiptheory automatically passes the order's value to your carrier for international shipments. Nevertheless, only certain carriers allow Shiptheory to specify the currency of the shipment (e.g. "20 US dollars").

If the carrier does not support currency specification, it will instead simply receive the value as a number (e.g. "20"). Shiptheory does not automatically convert the order's value to Euros.

Please note, some of our supported carriers are still working through changes to how they expect IOSS data to be transferred, and as such, the below is subject to change.

* When a carrier supports different currencies, it is not safe to assume that your Shiptheory account and sales channels are set up to feed the correct currency to the carrier. Please check that your sales channels are set up correctly to send the currency to Shiptheory. If in doubt, please contact support.

**We highly recommend you keep referring to this page, where we will provide updated information as more carriers will start accepting IOSS numbers.
