When requesting shipping rates before booking a shipment in Shiptheory, all supported carriers, including UPS, DHL, FedEx etc. return shipping rates in a currency that is determined by the sender’s country. Shiptheory displays these rates exactly as they are provided by the carrier, and no currency conversion is applied at the rate request stage.
For example, if the sender’s country is set to Italy within Shiptheory, the returned rates will be shown in EUR. If the sender’s country is set to the United States, the rates will be shown in USD. This ensures that the pricing shown during the rate request accurately reflects how the carrier prices shipments from that origin.
- Currency is determined by the sender (origin) address, not the destination
- If you have multiple sender locations in different countries, the sender’s address can be changed using rules, or automatically taken from the sales channel the shipment is sent from, where supported
- For manual orders the sender's address can be changed by unticking the box where it says (use default sender's location)
