Setup

Shiptheory offers optional support for Advanced Sales in its Cin7 Core integration. Advanced Sale support is only available for the following trigger events:

  • Pick Authorised
  • Pack Authorised
  • Ship Authorised

It is not available for the trigger event "Order Authorised".

To enable advanced sale support go to your Cin7 Core integration in Shiptheory and find the Download Options setting. Here you can choose to enable Advanced Sales support if the selected trigger type is supported.

Once enabled you will see some differences to how your shipments created from Cin7 Core appear in Shiptheory.

  1. The Shipment ID will be prefixed with "SF-". This indicates that the ID is for a Cin7 Core fulfilment and not a Cin7 Core sale.
  2. The Order ID will be the Sale number but will be suffixed with the fulfilment's number. For example SO-0001-2.

Enabling and disabling support

If at any point you enable or disable Advanced Sale support and retry a shipment the shipment will not respect the setting change. This means that once you have pulled in a fulfilment or sale under a particular methodology it will continue to use the same methodology. New shipments which are sent to Shiptheory from Cin7 Core will respect the new setting value.

Limitations

When using Simple Sales Shiptheory can easily determine which lines have discounts on them and which don't. Therefore it is not possible to accurately pull in a shipment which has 2 lines with identical SKUs, but differing prices. When using Advanced Sales there is no data to link the products of a fulfilment, which do not have pricing data, to order products which do. Therefore Shiptheory will use the price of the first order line it finds which has the same SKU as the fulfilment line.

Lets look at an example. In this order we have 2 lines which have differing prices for the same SKU. 4 items have been sold for a value of 10, but one has been marked up to 12.

If this order is split into 2 fulfilments where 2 of the 10-value and the 12-value products are into their own fulfilment then Cin7 Core will consolidate them into 1 line on the Pick.

When Shiptheory comes to try and get pricing data from the order it can only match the SKU. Therefore it pulls information from the first line of the order which has the matching SKU. This means that all products will be listed with a value of 10 in Shiptheory.
