General update behaviours

In Cin7 Core a sale will go through several "states" until it reaches shipped. The states Shiptheory is aware of are:

  • Order Authorised
  • Pick Drafted
  • Pick Authorised
  • Pack Drafted
  • Pack Authorised
  • Ship Drafted
  • Ship Authorised

You'll see indications of these states in the Cin7 Core UI. Green means the task has been authorised while orange means that the task is in draft or pending and grey means the task is yet to be started.

Shiptheory cannot add tracking information to a sale until a shipment is drafted. To tackle this, Shiptheory will progress a sale through all required states until it gets to shipped. For example, if we listen to Sale/OrderAuthorised as our webhook event, then on update Shiptheory will create and authorise the pick, pack and ship tasks automatically. If Sale/PackAuthorised was out webhook event then it would just create the ship task.

The ship task's status

An option has been added to set the status of the ship task if it has not already been authorised. If the status is set to DRAFT in the Shiptheory settings and the ship task is not created or already drafted, then the ship task will be set to draft with tracking information attached. If the ship is in authorised then it cannot have its status changed so the setting will be ignored. Tracking information should still be created if a ship task is authorised.

You can find this options in the advanced settings of your Cin7 Integration page in Shiptheory
