While Shiptheory excels at automating shipment creation from your integrated channels, there are times you might need to create a shipment manually. This is useful for one-off sends, phone orders, testing carrier services, or shipments unrelated to an online store.


Steps to Create a Manual Shipment:

  1. Navigate to the Main Dashboard area:
    From your main Shiptheory dashboard, click on the rocket ship icon in the top-left navigation area.


  2. Initiate a New Shipment:
    Click the blue 'Add New' button located near the top of the Shipments page.

    Click the Add New button

  3. Enter Shipment Details:
    A form will appear where you need to input the shipment information. Key sections include:

    • Recipient Details: Name, address, postcode, country, contact info. Ensure accuracy, especially postcode and country.
    • Sender Details: Often pre-filled from your account settings, but confirm it's correct.
    • Parcels: Enter the weight (kg) value.
    • Contents / Commodity Information: If you want to include commodity information on the products, make sure this is included within your product catalogue before creating the manual order.
    • Shipment Details: Select the desired Carrier and Service, add references, delivery instructions, etc.
  4. Book the Shipment:
    Once all required details are entered and you've selected your carrier/service, click the 'Book Shipment  button.

Confirmation

If successful, Shiptheory will book the shipment with the selected carrier, and generate the shipping label according to your printing preferences. The new shipment will appear on your dashboard.
