General Principles

  • Manifest-Based Carriers (e.g., Royal Mail): Cancellation usually involves removing the shipment from the manifest within Shiptheorybefore the manifest is completed/transmitted. Once manifested, cancellation in Shiptheory is not possible.
  • API/Portal-Based Carriers (Most Others): Once Shiptheory sends the booking data to the carrier, cancellation often needs to be done directly via the carrier's online web portal. Shiptheory may not have a direct 'cancel' button that works post-booking for these.
  • Aggregators (e.g., Parcel2Go, Despatch Bay): Cancellation is usually managed through the aggregator's platform, not the final delivery carrier's portal.
  • Amazon Buy Shipping: Labels purchased via Amazon Buy Shipping (even if initiated via Shiptheory) must typically be cancelled within your Amazon Seller Central account.

Carriers


Royal Mail

Cancel by removing the shipment from the Royal Mail manifest in Shiptheory before you mark the manifest as 'Printed' or 'Complete'. Once manifested, you cannot cancel via Shiptheory and may need to contact Royal Mail directly (though charges might still apply).



DPD UK

Cancellation must be done via the DPD UK shipping portal (MyDPD). Shiptheory sends the booking data, but management (including cancellation) is handled in the DPD system afterwards. 


Note: If a DPD label does not get scanned by the carrier, a charge will not be applied for that label. If you require a new DPD label, simply rebook the order to receive another label. 


FedEx

You are unable to see Shiptheory FedEx shipments in the FedEx portal. You can view them in the FedEx Advanced Shipment Tracking Portal. To cancel orders you will need to reach out to your FedEx account manager.   


UPS

Labels booked via Shiptheory need to be voided/cancelled through your UPS portal


USPS

Cancellation/refund requests for USPS labels need to be cancelled through your USPS portal.


DHL (Express/eCommerce/Parcel)

Cancellation requires logging into the specific DHL portal used for your account (e.g., MyDHL+, DHL eCommerce portal). 


Parcelforce

Requires cancellation via the Parcelforce portal


Deutsche Post

Cancel by removing the shipment from the Royal Mail manifest in Shiptheory before you mark the manifest as 'Printed' or 'Complete'. Once manifested, you cannot cancel via Shiptheory and may need to contact Deutsche Post directly (though charges might still apply).


GLS (Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland)

Cancellation is managed via the relevant regional GLS portal


APC Overnight

Cancellation is managed via the relevant APC portal


Amazon Shipping (SWA)

Labels are booked directly with Amazon. Cancellation must be done within the Amazon Shipping portal or via Seller Central, subject to Amazon's cut-off times. (Managed in Amazon, not Shiptheory).


Amazon Buy Shipping

Labels purchased through Amazon's Buy Shipping service must be cancelled/refunded directly within Amazon Seller Central under 'Orders' > 'Manage Orders'. Subject to Amazon's policies and time limits. (Managed in Amazon, not Shiptheory).


An Post

Cancellation is managed via the An Post portal.


Aramex

Cancellation is managed via the Aramex portal


Asendia

Cancellation is managed via the Asendia portal


Australia Post

Cancellation needs to be done via the Australia Post portal.


Bring

Bring requires cancellation via the portal or contacting Bring customer service. 


Canada Post

Cancellation/refunds are handled through the Canada Post business portal, subject to their terms and time limits. 


Caribou

As a specialized courier, cancellation involves contacting Caribou support directly or managing it on your Caribou portal


Circle Express

Specialist courier. Cancellation requires direct contact with Circle Express. 


CSM Logistics

Likely requires cancellation via the CSM portal or by contacting their support team. 


Despatch Bay

As an aggregator, cancel the shipment within the Despatch Bay portal.


DHL Parcel UK (formerly UK Mail)

Cancellation is managed via the DHL Parcel UK web portal or by contacting their customer services. 


DPD (Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Polska, HU)

Similar to DPD UK, cancellation must be done via the respective country's DPD customer portal


Note: If a DPD label does not get scanned by the carrier, a charge will not be applied for that label. If you require a new DPD label, simply rebook the order to receive another label.


DPD Local

Cancellation requires logging into the DPD Local portal or contacting your local DPD Local depot/support.

DX (1-Man, 2-Man, Express)

Cancellation requires contacting DX Freight or DX Express customer service directly or via their portal.


EVRi (Business/Corporate - formerly Hermes)

Cancellation is done via the EVRi business portal you use to manage shipments. 


Fast Despatch

Check their specific procedures. Requires contacting Fast Despatch support or using their portal


GFS

As a multi-carrier solution provider, cancellation processes might vary. Check within the GFS platform or contact GFS support. 


Hermes DE (Germany)

Cancellation is managed via the Hermes business portal (MyHermes Business) for Germany. 


HIVED

As a newer, sustainable carrier, check their specific process. This will involve contacting HIVED support or using their dedicated portal/dashboard


ILG (International Logistics Group)

Requires contacting ILG support or using their customer portal


InPost

Cancellation needs to be done via the InPost business portal before the parcel is dropped off/collected. 


Landmark Global

Requires cancellation via the Landmark Global portal or contacting their support. 


LF&E (Logistics, Freezer & Equipment)

Specialist refrigerated transport. Cancellation requires direct contact with LF&E. 


Norsk

Requires contacting Norsk Global support or using their portal


P2P (FedEx Cross Border)

Cancel orders using the P2P TRAK Pak portal or contact their support (often associated with FedEx now). 


Palletforce

Cancel by removing the shipment from the Palletforce manifest in Shiptheory before you mark the manifest as 'Printed' or 'Complete'. Once manifested, you cannot cancel via Shiptheory and may need to contact Palletforce directly (though charges might still apply).


Parcel Station

As an aggregator/reseller, cancellations are handled via the Parcel Station portal or by contacting their support. 


Parcelhub

Cancellation is managed through the Parcelhub portal or by contacting their customer service team. 


Parcel2Go

As an aggregator, cancel the shipment directly within your Parcel2Go account/portal


Packeta

Cancellation needs to be done via the Packeta client section/portal


Pro Carrier

Requires using the Pro Carrier portal or contacting their support. 


PostNord (Domestic & International)

Cancellation requires logging into the PostNord business portal (Portal Business)


Samos-E

Cancel an order via contacting Samos-E support or their portal


Sendle

Cancellation is managed directly within your Sendle portal.


SkyNet

Requires cancellation via the SkyNet portal or by contacting their local office/support. 


Requires contacting Starlinks support or using their portal


Swiss Post

Cancellation must typically be done via getting in contact with Swiss Post support. Check their business portal for options too. 


The Delivery Group

This requires cancellation via their portal or by contacting customer services. 


Yodel

Cancellation is managed via the Yodel portal or by contacting Yodel support. 


Pallet-Track

Cancellation requires contacting Pallet-Track customer service or your member depot. 


Polar Speed

Cancellation requires direct contact with Polar Speed support. 


Packfleet

Requires cancellation via the Packfleet dashboard/portal or contacting their support. 


Walkers Transport

Requires contacting Walkers Transport support or using their portal


Zedify

This is managed via the Zedify platform/app or by contacting local hub/support. 


Whistl

Cancellation usually handled via the Whistl portal or by contacting their customer services.
