Once a shipment is booked, fully cancelling the booking with the carrier directly via the main Shiptheory shipment dashboard isn't always possible, as cancellation rules depend heavily on the carrier and the shipment status.
However, Shiptheory provides an Archive function. This allows you to hide shipments from your active dashboard views
('Ignored', 'Completed', etc.) to keep things tidy. Completed orders are automatically archived for you.
Important: Archiving a shipment in Shiptheory is for organisational purposes only. It does not cancel the shipment with the carrier, prevent collection, stop charges, or delete the shipment record. Archived shipments can still be searched for later.
How to Manually Archive Shipments:
- Locate the shipment(s) you wish to archive on your Shiptheory dashboard.
- Choose one of the following methods:
- Single Shipment: Right-click on the shipment line and select 'Archive Shipment' from the menu.
- Multiple Shipments: Use the tick boxes on the left to select all desired shipments. Then, find the bulk actions menu (this will be be in the black bar at the top of the dashboard) and select the 'Archive' option.
Automatic Archiving
By default, Shiptheory automatically archives completed shipments after 24 hours to help keep your dashboard organised. This setting can be adjusted in your Auto Archive settings page. You can find it directly by clicking here.
Finding Archived Shipments
Finding your archived shipments depends on the configuration settings for each tab in the dashboard. You can change the configuration of each tab to either Show Archived Shipments or Hide Archived Shipments. To do this, follow these steps.
- Click the tab configuration cog on the tab you'd like to edit.
- Scroll down until you find the Archived Shipments section.
- Change the setting to one of 3 choices:
- Show All Shipments
- Show Archived Shipments
- Hide Archived Shipments
