If you send shipments internationally then you will have been supplied with one of the below tax numbers that need to be used as to ensure your shipments make it to their destination without delays, upon inputting them into Shiptheory, we will send them on your behalf to our couriers as and when they are required.

To add these numbers into Shiptheory you'll need to navigate to your Company Settings page.


You can see the international tax numbers we support below;

EORI Number

If you are based in the UK, you will need an Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number to trade goods with countries outside of the EU.


If you’re based outside of the EU, you will need an EORI number to trade goods with the UK.



IOSS Number


If you would like to prepay the customs VAT when exporting shipments to the EU, you'll need to provide your Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) number in the field below.

ATO Reference Number

If you are registered with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and collect GST on your sales or imports, please enter your 12-digit ARN in the field below.

ABN Reference Number

If you have an Australian Business Number (ABN), please enter it in the field below.

IRD Reference Number

If you are registered with the New Zealand inland Revenue (IRD), then please enter your IRD number in the field below

OSS Reference Number

If you are registered for a German VAT identification number, please enter it in the field below

VOEC Reference Number


If you ship to Norway, please enter your VAT on E-Commerce (VOEC) in the field below


Return Goods Relief Number


Exporters from the UK can pay less Customs Duty and VAT when re-importing goods to the UK by sending their Returned Goods Relief number to their carrier. Currently, this is only shared with certain carriers: Starlinks.
