Please visit this new guide on Getting started with Shiptheory and FedEx
When you are ready to move from Testing to Live with FedEx, you must request live FedEx API details that need to be added to your Shiptheory account. Follow the steps below.
NOTE: You'll need to send an email to emeawebservices@fedex.com asking them to approve your production key with a label you've created using your test details.
1. Login to the FedEx developer website using your existing FedEx website username and password.
2. Select FedEx Web Services and then Move to Production.
3. Click the Get Production Key button.
4. The first form you should see will look like the below. Make sure you copy the settings as shown below exactly.
5. Accept the terms and conditions.
6. You will now be asked to enter details specific to your account, such as your company address.
7. You will be asked "Please check this box if you want to update your Profile (address, phone, etc.) with the data provided on the previous page.". This your preference, it does not matter to Shiptheory if you tick the box or not.
8. You will be given a Authentication Key and Meter Number. Copy and paste the Authentication Key to the FedEx Developer Key in your Shiptheory account and the Meter Number to the Meter Number field.
9. You will have been emailed by FedEx. The email contains your Productions Password, as shown below. Copy this into the FedEx Password field in Shiptheory.
10. Finally, from the FedEx settings page in Shiptheory click on the small cog icon to expand your Advanced Settings and make sure Test Mode is set to No, as per below.
You are now configured to use FedEx live labels. Any labels you create will be chargeable by FedEx and live within the FedEx network.
NOTE: You'll need to send an email to emeawebservices@fedex.com asking them to approve your production key with a label you've created using your test details.
