DX Freight carrier accounts are typically linked to a depot based on the customer's shipping location. For example, if you normally ship from Mainland UK to Northern Ireland, your DX Freight account may be associated with a Mainland UK depot.

When shipping from Mainland UK --> Northern Ireland, the shipment is treated as an international movement and requires customs information. If all required commodity details are populated against the products, Shiptheory will include the relevant customs data in the request sent to DX Freight, and the shipment should book successfully.

However, issues can occur if the sender address changes to Northern Ireland unexpectedly (for example, due to information received from a sales channel).

If this happens;

  • Shiptheory will identify the shipment based on the sender and recipient addresses provided.

  • A shipment with Northern Ireland --> Northern Ireland addresses will be treated as a domestic shipment.

  • Customs information will not be included because it is not expected for a domestic shipment.
