Required Advanced Settings

The following advanced settings need to be filled out in order to allow Shiptheory to send shipments to Northern Ireland.

Recipient Type

Shiptheory has to tell Pall-Ex whether your shipments are B2B or B2C. Three options are offered:

  1. Choose automatically: Shipments will be classed as B2B if the recipient address' company name is populated.
  2. Always B2B: Shiptheory will always classify shipments as B2B.
  3. Always B2C: Shiptheory will always classify shipments as B2C.

Goods Description

Please provide a general description of the goods that you will be shipping to Northern Ireland.

Default Currency

Please specify what currency your sale are in. This is ignored if the shipment being processed has a currency set on it.

Specifying Commodities

Pall-Ex requires that you provide product data with your shipments to Northern Ireland. If you miss data then you will see an error occur from Pall-Ex and your shipment will not be booked. You can use the products checker to assess your international data for the products in your product catalogue and fill in any gaps.

Specifying EORI numbers

Pall-Ex requires that you specify 4 EORI numbers for B2B shipments. These are:

  • Sender GB EORI number
  • Sender XI EORI number
  • Recipient GB EORI number
  • Recipient XI EORI number

By default Shiptheory only supports 1 EORI number per sender and recipient. In order to supply 4 EORI numbers you can use the delivery instructions. These will take precedent over any EORI numbers set on the shipment. For example:

Deliver to side entrance
sender_gb_eori: GB123456789000
sender_xi_eori: XI123456789000
recipient_gb_eori: GB123456789000
recipient_xi_eori: XI123456789000

Shiptheory will extract the EORI numbers and then remove them from the delivery instructions. The instructions sent to Palle-Ex will therefore be:

Deliver to side entrance

If you have EORI numbers set on the shipment then Shiptheory will use them based on the prefix. You therefore would only need to provide 2 supplement EORI numbers in the description. With this example:

  • Sender.EORI = GB123456789000: Mapped to GB sender EORI
  • Recipient.EORI = XI123456789000: Mapped to XI recipient EORI

You would only need to supply the following instructions:

Deliver to side entrance
sender_xi_eori: XI123456789000
recipient_gb_eori: GB123456789000
