When making a FedEx get rates request , you may encounter a validation error if the customer does not include a postcode. This problem could occur with countries such as Dubai, Qatar, Bolivia etc.. The error you may encounter could look something like this;


Error: There was an error when communicating with FedEx: (INVALID.INPUT.EXCEPTION) Validation failed for object="rateInputVO" Error count: 1  


To resolve this issue communicate with the customer about their location and confirm whether they are from somewhere that does not use postcode system or not. In order to get a rate from the carrier and if they are from a region that does not use postcode system, the postcode field will need to contain 00000.
