Despite Shiptheory accepting up to 3 address lines for recipient addresses GFS only supports a single address line. Shiptheory must comply with this in order to successfully send your shipment with GFS, but the way in which it does this is configurable.
Finding the Setting
You can find the setting to your GFS integration advanced settings in Shiptheory and scrolling down until you find the setting labelled "Recipient Address Line Behaviour".
Options Explained
Example Address:
Shiptheory
7th Floor - East (Programme)
All Saints Street
Bristol
BS1 2LZ
Only address line 1
In this configuration, Shiptheory will only ever send the first address line to GFS. From our example this would be "7th Floor - East (Programme)".
Join address lines 1 and 2
In this configuration, Shiptheory will join the address lines 1 and 2 together with a comma and a space. From our example this would be "7th Floor - East (Programme), All Saints Street".
Smart join address lines 1 and 2
In this configuration, Shiptheory will join the address lines 1 and 2 together with a comma and a space if the combined length of both lines including the comma and the space is less than the limit GFS enforce. From our example this would be "7th Floor - East (Programme), All Saints Street ". However if the line was longer than, for example, 35 characters then Shiptheory would just send "7th Floor - East (Programme)".
