Royal Mail offer a variety of different products that provide the option for having a PIN be required upon delivery to the recipient address. These will be marked by the service name in Shiptheory as with PIN, for example Tracked 24 No Signature with PIN.

When a shipment is sent with a PIN service, Royal Mail will send a PIN to the customer that they will need to provide to the person delivering their parcel. When selecting any of these PIN services, you will also need to select one of the following notification enhancements:

Enhancement Name
Email Notification
SMS Notification
SMS & Email Notification

By doing this, you are telling Royal Mail how you would like the PIN to be sent from them to your customer, as Shiptheory itself does not come in contact with this PIN. You will also need to ensure that when selecting Email and/or SMS notifications, that the recipient address on your shipment has this information

As per normal, you should always manifest BEFORE you handover your parcels to your Royal Mail driver or handing them to your local Royal Mail collection, as not doing so could result in the PIN not being sent.
