This guide will explain the Merge Shipments functionality available in Shiptheory and will help you with getting started using this feature!
What is Shipment Merging?
Shipment Merging is a feature which allows you to merge two or more shipments together to form one single shipment. This is especially useful if you have two (or more) orders for the same recipient, and wish to combine them into one consignment.
How Do I Get Started?
To start using Shipment Merging, navigate to the Shiptheory Advanced Dashboard and select two (or more) orders, this can be done by clicking on the checkboxes to the left hand side of the shipments. Once the shipments are selected, simply click on Merge Shipments on the action bar at the top of the dashboard to merge the selected shipments into one consignment.
Once you have clicked on Merge Shipments, you will be brought to a page which will allow you to confirm the details of the new consignment, such as the Customer Details, Sender Details and the Shipment Details.
Once you are happy with the shipment information, click on Merge Shipments to merge the selected shipments into one consignment.
Once the shipments have been merged into one consignment, the consignment will appear on your Shiptheory dashboard and the original shipments will no longer be available.
To help distinguish the merged shipments from the rest of your orders, the merged shipments have a unique "M" as the prefix of the order reference and will be assigned the Waiting status, meaning that you will need to mark the shipment for approval before booking the consignment in.
Once you see the consignment in your dashboard, you will have successfully merged a consignment on Shiptheory, and all tracking information will be passed back to the sales channels originally used!
