Occasionally when booking in with Deutsche Post, you may see the following error on a shipment;
"Invalid Item data: Sum weight of the content must not exceed the item weight"
This is caused by the combined weight of the products in the order being a larger amount that the overall weight in the shipment.
Within the Deutshce Post advanced settings options in Shiptheory, you can find a setting to resolve this issue:
Within this, you can choose from three options as shown here:
Don't Update Weights- This will change nothing and keep the settings as normal
Update Total Shipment Weight- This will update the overall shipment weight to match the combined weight of the products, increasing the overall weight.
Update Product Weights- This will update the combined product weights to match the overall shipment weight, decreasing the combined product weights.
