Having trouble logging into your Brightpearl account through Shiptheory or seeing this error:
Unable to connect to Brightpearl: Failed to connect to Brightpearl
This may be because your API permissions are not set to 'ON' on your Brightpearl account. We'll show you how to do this.
- Log onto your Brightpearl Account
- Go to Settings > Staff/Users > List staff.
- Click the Permissions link for the relevant staff member.

- Each area of Brightpearl is listed across the top of the screen and the access options listed out below.
- Under the 'Settings' column (see arrow) click 'API Access' to ON or OFF.

6. Click 'Save Changes'
If you want to copy permissions across all your users;
- Go to Settings > Staff/Users > List staff.
- Click the Permissions link for the new staff member you want to set permissions for.
- Scroll down to below the permissions boxes.
- Use the drop down menu to select the existing staff member whose permissions you want to copy.
- Click the Copy button. The permissions will be applied.
