When booking any international shipments, depending on the destination country, shipment value and contents, there may be import charges, customs duties and/or taxes that need to be paid before the shipment can be released to the addressee.

With DPD.nl, you have the option of indicating who is responsible for paying for these charges should they apply to any international shipments.

How to set Customs Charges Responsibility

From your Shiptheory DPD.nl settings page, click on the grey Advanced Settings icon in the bottom left corner of the page.

There are two options from which to select -

  • Seller (DDP) (default)
The seller is responsible for ALL charges at the destination, including any local taxes.
  • Recipient (DAP)
The recipient is responsible for ALL import costs, customs duties and taxes at the destination country.
