Customs Documents can be set up to be generated and printed automatically as your shipping labels are booked in.

Enable Customs Documents Generation

To turn this feature on, click on your account name in the top right of any page in Shiptheory and under Advanced, select Import/Export Documents:

From here, you can select for which carriers Shiptheory should automatically generate and print Customs Declaration forms (CN22 & CN23). Simply select the slider next to each carrier on your account to enable/disable form production.

Advanced Options

In the bottom left of the Import/Export Documents settings page, click the Advanced Settings icon. From here, you further customise your generated customs documents.

Auto-fill Product Data

If you would prefer to not have Shiptheory automatically list your order product data and instead generate blank customs forms, set this option to "No".

Select the category that best describes your shipments. You can select from:

  • Gift
  • Sample
  • Documents
  • Other

EU Shipment Statement of Origin Country

For shipments between EU member states and/or the UK, an Export Declaration statement is added to generated Commercial Invoices stating, e.g. The exporter of the products covered by this document (Exporter Reference No. 00000000) declares that, except where otherwise clearly indicated, these products are of UK/EU preferential origin. Business Name, Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, Postcode, Country.

If you would like to update the origin specified in this statement from "UK/EU" to something else - "UK", "EU", etc. you can enter that value here. To add an address of origin, fill it in the Origin Country fields.

Note: The Exporter Reference number in the Export Declaration statement is updated with the Tax Number or EORI set in your Shiptheory company settings.

Upload Signature Image

You can upload a signature image to be printed on your Customs Documentation. Ideally, this should be the person named on your Shiptheory account.

We recommend taking a photo of a clear signature on white paper and, using photo editing software, resize the image to a maximum of 450 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall and save the image in JPG or PNG format.

Alternately, Docsketch offers a free service to generate a signature image online.

Upload Company Stamp

You can upload a company stamp image or logo to be printed on your Customs Documentation.

We recommend using photo editing software to resize your image to a maximum of 450 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall and to save the image in JPG or PNG format.
