Swiss Post offer a number of different notifications that can be sent to your customers to inform them of progress updates for their shipment. Select all of the notification services in Shiptheory that you would like to be used (when available) as part of your shipping rules.
Notifications can be sent to your customer by either Email or SMS (text message). Under the 'Select Delivery Notification Type' in your Swiss Post courier's advanced settings you have the following options:
- Email Only - Send an email notification to the customer, where a valid customer email has been provided
- SMS Only - Send an email notification to the customer, where a valid customer phone number has been provided
- Email (or SMS) - Send an email notification to the customer, where a valid customer email has been provided, else, if a valid phone number has been provided, send an SMS notification
- SMS (or Email) - Send an email notification to the customer, where a valid customer email has been provided, else, if a valid customer email has been provided, send an email notification
The following notifications options are available:
- Proof of Posting - This message informs your customers that you have passed the order to Swiss Post. They can use their consignment number to track the consignment online.
- Delivery Information - The message informs customers on which date their order will be delivered to them.
- Collection Information - This notification is aimed at customers who receive consignments at a P.O. Box or poste restante address, and informs them that their consignment is ready for collection.
- Reminder to Recipient - The message reminds customers that they have not yet collected their consignment.
- Handover Status to Sender - The message is sent to senders and informs them about the consignment’s status (e.g. delivered, ready for collection, second delivery attempt made).
- Saturday Delivery - Notification of delivery of a consignment on the following Saturday.
- Evening Delivery Following Days - Notification of evening delivery of a consignment on the following day.
- Evening Delivery Same Day - Notification of evening delivery of a consignment on the same day.

Delivery Service and Notification combinations
There are a few notification options that are only available when used in conjunction with certain delivery service options. These are detailed below:
- Saturday Delivery
This notification is only available in conjunction with the "Saturday Delivery" enhancement. - Evening Delivery Following Days
This notification is only available in conjunction with the "Evening Delivery" enhancement on the "PostPac Priority", "Bulky Goods Priority",
"PostPac Economy" or "Bulky Goods Economy" services. - Evening Delivery Same Day
This notification is only available in conjunction with the "Evening Delivery" enhancement on the "SameDay afternoon/evening", "SameDay afternoon/evening Bulky Goods" or "Direct" services.
