DPD require your order information to be under a certain amount of characters, we've implemented a feature to address where you can choose whether or not you'd like Shiptheory to automatically truncate order information that is over DPD's character limits.
There are two options in the drop-down menu shown in the image above;
- "No, Display Warnings" - This option will change the status of any shipments being sent to DPD with order fields that are over the character limit for that particular field to failed and you'll find this along with your other failed shipments in the "Failed" tab
- "Truncate Data" - Enabling truncation will automatically remove characters from the offending order field that's over the character limit which will allow it to be booked in without requiring a user to log in and manually edit the shipment.
It's important to understand that turning on truncation could, in some situations, result in a loss of data. As per the image above Shiptheory cannot accept ant responsibility for any errors in consignment information as a result of this.
