Shiptheory allows you to specify different printers for various customs documents (like CN22s, CN23s, and Commercial Invoices), separate from your shipping label printers. This is useful if you use different paper sizes or need documents sent to specific packing stations.

To configure these settings, you will need the Shiptheory Print Client installed and running. If you don't currently have this set up, you can find this guide by clicking here.

Setting Up Your Printers For Customs Documents

  1. Navigate to the main settings area by clicking the Settings icon (cogwheel) in the left-hand navigation menu.
  2. Under the 'Printing' section select Import/Export Documentation. (Alternatively, access the page directly via this link: https://helm.shiptheory.com/documents).
  3. When prompted with terms or confirmation for document handling, click 'I Accept, Continue'.
  4. On the 'Documents' page, click the 'Advanced Settings' button.
  5. Scroll down within the advanced settings until you find the Printers section.
  6. Here, you can use the dropdown menus to select a specific printer (from those recognised by your Print Client) for each document type:
    • CN22 Forms
    • CN23 Forms
    • Commercial Invoice Forms (Note: You can also configure the number of copies printed here).
  7. After making your selections, ensure you scroll down and click the Save button to apply the changes.
