Sometimes when printing using the Shiptheory Print Client, you can encounter this error.
Here is a small list of things you can try to fix this issue:
Print Engine
The first thing to be looked at is usually the "Default Printing Backend" option.
First open up the Shiptheory Print Client on your Computer and navigate to the "Printing" tab. Then in the top right you will see this option, switch this to the other option and try to reprint!
Note: On Windows the Engines will be 4 and 6, and on Mac the engine will be 5 and 7
If this doesn't work. Switch back to the previous engine.
Print Client Reinstall
The next thing to try is to reinstall the Shiptheory Print Client.
Firstly you want to uninstall the existing installation of the Client,. Type "Add Or Remove Programs" into the Windows Search Bar, This will open up a window, search for Shiptheory Print Client and click uninstall. Or for Mac open Finder, select applications and Find the Client, drag it into the Trash Can on the Dock.
Now head to https://helm.shiptheory.com/company/printers and select download Client, this will open a drop down menu, click the correct one for your operating system and this will start the download.
Once downloaded, install the file and follow the install wizard, once installed, you will be prompted to log in. Once you have logged in you can go ahead and retry a print job.
Drivers
The final thing we would do is to update or reinstall drivers. If you feel this is difficult, one of our Support team will always be more than happy to help!
Firstly you want to find out the name of the printer you are using. Once you have that, Google for that printers drivers. For this example we will use "Citizen CL-S521 Drivers"
Click on the relevant link and Download the Drivers for your Operating System, Windows 64bit or MacOS CUPS Drivers.
Go ahead and open the file and run through the install wizard.
Once you have finished installing, close and reopen the Shiptheory Print Client and retry a label print from Shiptheory
